Last week I took 8 Sparrow kids to my church to audition for the second annual Spring Talent Thing. The competition includes young adults from congregations all over Johannesburg, as well as several university campuses. It was their first time performing live, and their first time playing before judges - but they did SO WELL! I was so very proud of them...despite the fact that they broke the cable for the bass guitar the morning of the performance. *You guys!*
I got a phone call from the judges, and the Sparrow kids have made it into the talent show on October 3rd. We've got 3 weeks to pull everything together for the final performance, and if they win they could earn nearly $200. Now that's motivation for 15 year-olds. :-)
