Here is the story of G., a very special boy at Baby Haven.
G. is 20 months old and has been at Baby Haven for about a year. God willing, he is the worst case of child abuse you will ever see. His parents, on the advice of a witch doctor, either burned him or placed him in boiling water, inflicting horrible burns and creating tremendous amounts of scar tissue to form across the lower half of his body. They took out his left eye. They attempted to cut off his ears but were unable to. He had been cup-fed and given solid food from birth. He was never held, causing the sides of his head to be flattened from laying down all day. All this took place before he was 9 months old.
When the lady from Baby Haven came to collect him from the hospital, he was completely unresponsive to toys or any stimulation, he could not roll over or crawl, and he was tiny.
Today, after much love and prayer, G. is a big smiley boy. He gets into everything, wobbles around a bit, but nevertheless takes off running. He has a prosthetic eye, and eats up a storm. A family with abundant love is hoping to adopt him, but first they have to wait until October when the parents' rights to this child can officially and finally be severed.
G. is so loved, and so special. The joy of the Lord flows through his handsome smile. Praise God for the healing transformation that has already happened in his precious life, and please pray for the continued healing of every scar (both physical and emotional) that he has to endure.
