Spotlight: Percussion at Sparrow Village.
These kids are incredible.
This morning we took a trip back to the recording studio to record some percussion tracks with the Sparrow djembes. We walked away with so much more than a djembe track. Their song now features full-blown rainsticks, shakers, the works!
In addition, Sparrow recently received a new pile of instruments: a "kitchen drum set." They perform percussion using only common household supplies. The kids have been practicing for a week, and they've already got a great sound. Our best djembe player, 19-year old V., has been composing and teaching all of the beats. He's absolutely brilliant.
